Preferred Care of the Virginias Service Area?

Preferred Care of the Virginias devotes itself to serving it's members and thier patients all throughout Mercer, McDowell and Monroe Counties in West Virginia. In Virginia we have covered lives in Bland, Giles and Tazewell Counties.

We are always looking at surrounding areas as potential growth for our members.

Preferred Care of the Virginia’s Goals

1. Establish physician hospital organization as a corporation and recruit as owner/members a large number of physicians and the area’s major institutional providers.

2. Communicate the proposed activities of the PHO to physicians, managed care organizations, employers and the community at large.

3. Market PHO to payors, both insurers/ HMOs and large area employers.

4. Establish PHO operations, including marketing to payers.

5. Establish a risk contracting strategy.

6. Acquire and operate comprehensive data collection and reporting systems.

7. Develop and enhance existing hospital and physician tertiary networking options.

8. Establish relationships with, and offer assistance to smaller hospitals and their physicians that view Bluefield and Princeton as a referral point.

9. Proactively participate in area and state discussions about our industry.
